Front Royal, VA – Pedestrian Loses Life in Crash on I-66 near Exit 6
Front Royal, VA (August 23, 2023) – A pedestrian accident reported in Front Royal on Tuesday morning claimed one person’s life.
The Fairfax County Police and area firefighters were called to the scene of the crash at around 5:40 a.m. on August 22.
Reports from the police show that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 66. Authorities arrived at the scene and located the pedestrian with significant injuries in the area near Exit 6.
The pedestrian was subsequently pronounced deceased as a result of their injuries.
The Virginia Department of Transportation reported significant delays on all of the westbound lanes due to the accident and the crash investigation. Investigations into the accident are currently ongoing. No other injuries were reported.
