SOBER RIDES FROM SHIRLINGTON FOR NEW YEARS EVE
BLASZKOW LEGAL PRESENTS SOBER RIDES FROM SHIRLINGTON
DUI Crashes are entirely preventable, but they happen with frustrating frequency throughout Northern Virginia. Attorney Joe Blaszkow is helping to cut down on those crashes through Blaszkow Legal's New Years Eve Sober Rides Campaign!
We selected a New Year's Eve hotspot, near our office, and are putting up flyers that contain a QR Code which party-goers can scan, and get a free ride home! The QR Codes will work throughout Shirlington, Virginia, and will automatically bring up the user's Uber App. The user can then get a ride anywhere in the DMV, to get home safely. Each ride will have a $40.00 voucher attached to it (which should cover most rides).
In order to get home, the user will have to have the Uber app installed on his/her phone.
The Sober Rides campaign will be available from 10 p.m. on New Year's Eve, through 3 a.m. on January 1st.
2023 is the inaugural year of Blaszkow Legal's Sober Ride's Campaign. While there are other campaigns being offered by government bodies and non-profit organizations, Blaszkow Legal's campaign was designed to help people in one geographic area, to start out. However, depending on the number of Sober Ride users, there is some discussion about an expanded 2024 campaign!
Mr. Blaszkow, the firm's CEO and founding partner, has a long history of fighting for people injured in DUI crashes. He was one of the first attorneys in Virginia to receive an award of punitive damages against a DUI driver who had injured his client. He knows first-hand just how these crashes can seriously injure people, and determined to roll out this campaign to give people a safe option, instead of driving.
"Our Sober Rides Campaign will hopefully keep the number of DUIs down, and make sure more people than ever can party safely, and then have a great 2024," said Mr. Blaszkow.
In addition to this post, and other social media postings, Blaszkow Legal is deploying signs with the QR Codes into some Shirlington establishments, so that party-goers can scan the code, and get home in real-time.

Rules of the Program:
Rides are available from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., 12/31/23 - 1/1/24
Rides have to be called for from the Shirlington, Virginia area.
The Rides offered are vouchers, each in the amount of $40.00. Any charge in excess of 40.00 is the responsibility of the rider.
The Rides are offered via the Uber App/Platform, so any rider must have an Uber account/Uber App on his or her phone.
The Rides are offered on a first-come, first serve basis.
