Isle of Wight, VA – Fatal Crash on Hwy 258 Takes Woman’s Life
Isle of Wight, VA (December 13, 2023) – The Virginia State Police confirmed that one woman lost her life as a result of a fatal collision that occurred in Isle of Wight on Tuesday morning, December 12. The police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the accident at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Crash investigations performed by the Virginia State Police show that authorities believe 63-year-old Yvonne Howell Higgs was driving east on Route 620 in a 2006 Lincoln MKC when her vehicle collided with a southbound dump truck at the intersection of Highway 258.
Higgs was fatally injured due to the accident. She was immediately pronounced deceased by authorities. The driver of the dump truck, who has not been identified, was injured. The victim was treated by emergency medical service personnel. At this time, the incident is being investigated by the Virginia State Police.
