Chesterfield Co, VA – Life-Threatening Multi Vehicle Crash on I-95 NB Near Woods Edge Rd

Chesterfield County, VA (November 26, 2025) – One person suffered life-threatening injuries after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 northbound on Tuesday evening, November 25. The wreck happened near Woods Edge Road in Chesterfield County. The Virginia Department of Transportation reported heavy emergency activity in the northbound lanes soon after the crash occurred.

First responders rushed to the scene and found several vehicles involved. Crews worked to help the injured and secure the area. Chesterfield County Fire and Emergency Medical Services confirmed that one victim needed urgent care. Paramedics transported that person to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Police have not released the victim’s name or provided an update on their condition beyond describing the injuries as life-threatening.

The crash forced officials to close all northbound lanes for a period of time while crews handled the emergency. Once responders cleared damaged vehicles and finished early investigation steps, lanes reopened. Authorities asked drivers to avoid the area during the response so medical teams and officers could work safely.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of this multi-vehicle accident.

We hope the injured person receives steady care and begins to recover.

Auto Accidents in VirginiaLife-Threatening Multi Vehicle Crash on I-95 NB Near Woods Edge Rd

Auto accidents on Virginia’s busy roads often lead to serious harm because traffic moves fast and drivers travel close together. In a multi-vehicle crash, victims may suffer injuries from several impacts in seconds. Even when a person survives, recovery can take a long time. Common injuries in high-speed highway collisions like this can include:

  • Traumatic brain injuries, such as concussions, can cause dizziness, confusion, or memory trouble.
  • Neck and back injuries, including whiplash, herniated discs, or spinal strain that may bring lasting pain.
  • Broken bones in the ribs, arms, legs, or hips, often caused by direct impact or crushing force.
  • Chest injuries like bruised lungs or rib trauma from seat belts, airbags, or steering wheel contact.
  • Internal injuries, including bleeding or organ damage that may not show symptoms right away.
  • Severe cuts and soft tissue damage from shattered glass or twisted metal.
  • Knee, shoulder, and joint injuries can limit movement and require therapy or surgery.
  • Emotional trauma, such as anxiety or sleep problems after a violent crash.

These injuries can bring heavy medical bills, missed work, and stress for the entire family. If another driver caused the crash, the injured person may have the right to seek compensation for treatment costs, lost income, and pain that now affects daily life.

Insurance companies often move quickly after a serious wreck, and early offers may not cover future care. Speaking with a car crash attorney can help protect your claim and relieve pressure while you heal.
