Prince William Co., VA (July 10, 2024) – One man has died, and two additional people were injured as a result of the major motor vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday morning, July 9. The Virginia State Police out of Prince William County were called to the scene of the accident just before 6:30 a.m.

According to preliminary investigations, an SUV was traveling northbound on Interstate 95 while utilizing the express lanes. As the vehicle pulled off onto the right shoulder of the roadway due to a potential mechanical issue, both the driver and the passenger exited onto the roadway. At the same time, a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling on the road and struck the passenger in the SUV near mile marker 160. The pedestrian died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care. At this time, the state police are investigating the crash.
