Louisa, VA - Aldo Jose Abello Loses Life in Crash on I-64 near MM 133.2
Louisa, VA (December 27, 2023) – A series of motor vehicle accidents reported on Tuesday in Luisa claimed the life of a Charlottesville man. Events unfolded at approximately 7:30 p.m. on December 26.
Reports provided by the Virginia State Police indicate that 37-year-old Aldo Jose Abello was driving a 2019 Nissan Kicks on Interstate 64 during the evening hours. As he approached mile marker 133.2, his vehicle collided with a deer. The vehicle became disabled. Abello exited his vehicle after turning on the hazard lights.
As he stood on the roadside median, a 2023 Subaru Forrester, which was driven by a 37-year-old man from the Virginia Beach area, spotted the Nissan. However, the driver was unable to switch lanes to avoid a collision. As a result, the driver swerved the vehicle and entered the grassy median. The vehicle struck Abello, causing severe harm. Abello was rushed to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he passed away from his injuries. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
