Sterling, VA – Truck Driver Injured in Crash on Route 28
Sterling, VA (September 20, 2023) – A crash reported on Monday evening in Sterling sent one person to an area medical facility with injuries.
During the evening hours on September 18, emergency officials responded to a crash that occurred on Route 28.
Reports from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office show that a black Nissan Altima was traveling south on the roadway when it struck a tractor-trailer. The impact of the crash caused the truck to overturn and catch on fire. The Nissan also collided with a blue Toyota Prius.
The driver was pulled from the cab of the truck. They were severely injured and rushed to a local hospital for emergency care.
The driver of the Toyota and the Nissan Driver, 18-year-old Jose Padilla Espinosa, were both transported to area hospitals for medical care.
Padilla Espinosa was subsequently arrested and charged with driving without insurance and having forged tags.
At this time, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
