Harwood, MD – 54-Year-Old Woman Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on Solomons Island Rd

Harwood, MD (April 8, 2026) – A 54-year-old woman died after a three-vehicle crash on Tuesday, April 7, along Solomons Island Road in southern Anne Arundel County. The accident happened around 7:20 a.m. on MD Route 2 just south of Polling House Road.

Authorities reported that a 2021 Dodge Challenger, driven by a 19-year-old man from West River, was traveling northbound when it struck the rear of a 2010 Nissan Xterra. The impact pushed the Nissan into the southbound lane, where a 2019 Toyota 4Runner hit it head-on.

Emergency units responded and provided aid at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, identified as a 54-year-old woman from Prince Frederick, suffered critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died.

The drivers of the Dodge Challenger and Toyota 4Runner sustained minor injuries. Paramedics transported both individuals to local hospitals for further evaluation and treatment.

Investigators continue to review the cause of the crash.
