Fairfax Co., VA - Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Truck on Route 28
Fairfax County, VA (December 25, 2024) – A pedestrian accident early Monday morning claimed the life of an adult man in Chantilly.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on December 23 at Route 28 and Poplar Tree Road. Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) officers were dispatched to the scene and found the pedestrian had been fatally struck by a truck. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the crash, the Virginia Department of Transportation reported that all northbound lanes of Route 28, just south of Westfields Boulevard, were closed as authorities worked to investigate and clear the site.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
